Hey Product Hunt! I'm Pablo, the maker of Dust Color.
I wanted a fast way to give clean digital audio that worn-in, analog character without stacking six different plugins. Dust Color puts the vintage toolkit behind one Magnitude macro, so you can go from subtle warmth to full lo-fi decay with a single knob, or dive into each module when you want control.
What is inside:
- Noise: vinyl, tape, VHS and cassette hiss with tone shaping
- Wobble: wow and flutter pitch instability
- Distort: five waveshapers (tube, tape, crunch, fuzz, digital) with oversampling
- Digital: bitcrushing and sample-rate reduction
- Space: spring and plate style ambience
- Magnetic: tape wear, saturation and random dropouts
It ships as VST3, AU and Standalone for macOS and Windows, with 1x/2x/4x oversampling and an FFT spectrum analyzer. Built with JUCE 8 and C++20. It is free for noncommercial use.
I would love to hear what you make with it and which vintage sounds you would like to see next. Thanks for checking it out!
