Dungeon Mastron

Design worlds. Shape stories. Play the outcome.

Dungeon Mastron is a free, MIT open-source platform for choose-your-own-adventure games. Build visually with a node graph, play and share instantly in the browser, or paste one prompt template into ChatGPT to generate a complete playable game - then load it onto a 3D-printed Raspberry Pi cartridge console.

Hey Product Hunt! I love choose-your-own-adventure games, but the tools always felt like they were missing something. Twine is great but code-adjacent. AI tools spit out text you can't keep or structure. And nothing captures the old cartridge magic, the physical slot it in and play ritual. So I built Dungeon Mastron: a free, MIT open-source CYOA platform. It's a solo passion project in refinement stage, and I'm looking for people to shape it with me. What works today: Visual node-graph builder – draw your branching story, no code AI Companion – paste one prompt template into ChatGPT or Claude and get back a complete playable game file. It helps with narrative AND game structure (stats, items, wounds, endings), not just prose Browser player – share any game with a link, no account, no install "Wounds, not death" – failure changes the story instead of restarting it Any style of game works: fantasy, horror, sci-fi, mystery, educational, whatever you can branch. One honest note: the platform handles story and structure. Images, voice and sound are up to you, sourced or generated elsewhere and dropped into your game folder. In beta: the DIY Raspberry Pi console, a 3D-printable console where the cartridges are USB sticks. The v1 case is printed and working; the Pi engine runs but needs real testing. STLs are free and the shell is anyone's to remix. Honestly: for this to become what it could be, a community needs to form around it. Everything is MIT so that can happen. If you like early, weird, open projects: come break it with me. 🎲 – Henrik (Artifextron)
