I built Dual N Back because I wanted a simple way to train my working memory and see whether I was actually improving. Most trainers I tried felt outdated, repetitive, or showed too little progress data. So I created a free web-based trainer with adaptive difficulty, detailed analytics, customizable sessions, daily goals, and reminders. No installation required. I'm Yan, the maker of Dual N Back.
I started this project because I wanted to improve my working memory and focus.
I tried several Dual N-Back trainers, but I kept running into the same problems: outdated interfaces, repetitive training sessions, and very little insight into whether I was actually improving.
So I decided to build the trainer I wanted to use myself.
The project started as a much simpler tool, but while using it, I realized that effective training needed more than just showing sequences and counting correct answers.
I wanted to see my progress over time.
I wanted the difficulty to adjust as I improved.
And I wanted to be able to train from any device without installing anything.
That's how Dual N Back became a web app with adaptive difficulty, performance analytics, customizable training sessions, daily goals, and reminders.
I'm still actively improving the product, and there's a lot I want to add.
And that's one of the reasons why I'm launching here.
I'd really like to hear from people who train their memory, use brain-training apps, or are simply interested in improving focus and cognitive performance.
What would make a tool like this genuinely useful enough for you to want to use it every day?
