Deus - AI that actually knows you
An AI that actually knows you. Portable, evolving, yours.
Most AI assistants forget you the moment you close the tab. Deus doesn't. Every conversation is stored, indexed with embeddings, and retrieved automatically in future sessions. A local eval loop scores interactions and surfaces patterns over time — so the assistant gets better the more you use it. Connects to WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, and Gmail. Everything runs on your machine in isolated containers. No cloud dependency, no data shared with anyone. Open source, fully yours.
Hey everyone — I'm Liam, the maker of Deus.
I started building this because I got tired of switching tabs to talk to AI.
I wanted something that just lives where I already am — WhatsApp, Telegram,
wherever — and actually remembers what we talked about last week.
Most AI tools treat every conversation like a blank slate. That felt wrong.
So I built a system where every session gets indexed, stored with embeddings,
and automatically pulled up when it's relevant again.
The more you use it, the more it knows how to help you.
A few things I cared about while building this:
- Everything runs on your machine. No data leaves, no cloud dependency.
- Every conversation runs in its own isolated container - sandboxed filesystem and memory.
- Channels are modular. Add WhatsApp, remove Slack, connect Gmail - one command each.
- There's a local eval loop that scores interactions and surfaces patterns over time.
The assistant doesn't just remember - it improves.
- Fully open source, MIT licensed.
I've been using Deus daily for months now — for work, for studying math & physics, for keeping track of projects across different apps.
It started as a weekend hack and turned into something I actually rely on.
Curious to hear what you think. What would you want from a self-hosted AI assistant
