CostMyDish
Free food cost calculator for chefs, bakers and food trucks.
CostMyDish is a free food costing calculator built for chefs, home bakers, caterers, and food truck owners. Build an ingredient library, cost recipes live as you add ingredients, and set prices that hit your food cost % target — across multiple selling formats (per slice, per portion, per combo) from one recipe.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Vishal, solo founder of CostMyDish. I built this after seeing how many food businesses either wing their pricing or pay $100+/month for enterprise tools like MarginEdge that are overkill for a home bakery or single food truck.
CostMyDish lets you build an ingredient library once, then cost any recipe live — with automatic unit conversion, waste %, and margin targets. The part I'm most proud of: one recipe, multiple selling formats. Sell your pizza by the slice AND whole, and see the food cost % and profit for each, instantly.
Free tier is actually usable (5 recipes, 20 ingredients) — not a crippled trial. Would love your feedback, especially if you run a food business and want to tell me what's missing.
