I built CompareLists after one too many VLOOKUP detours in Excel just to figure out what changed between two versions of a list.
What started as a quick personal script turned into a proper tool once I realized most "list comparison" sites out there either make you sign up, upload your data to their server, or both, which felt like overkill (and a privacy risk) for something this simple.
So CompareLists runs 100% in your browser. Nothing you paste or upload ever touches a server. It works offline, has a Chrome extension for comparing lists without leaving your tab, and includes ready-made templates for common cases, Instagram followers, Excel/CSV columns, database IDs, email lists.
Some things I'm proud of under the hood: a visual diff view, regex-based splitting/find-and-replace, and a share-link feature if you need to send results to someone else.
