Clop optimises screenshots as soon as you copy them, so you can send up to 10x smaller images. Same with videos: save your screen recordings on the Desktop, and have them optimised for upload in seconds. It even works on PDFs!
As an app developer having to respond to support emails daily, sending screenshots and recordings became a large part of my work. And I got tired pretty soon of waiting for uploads to never finish and attachments to be "Too Large" 😅
Clop is a small app that sits in the background and automatically optimises 🏞️ images that you copy, 📽️ videos that you save on your Desktop, or 📄 PDFs that you drop on the app.
🏞️ Copied images will be optimised as soon as you copy them, will have minimal to zero loss in quality, and will be ready to paste in any app.
📽️ For videos, Clop can use Apple Silicon's dedicated Media Engine chip for battery-efficient video encoding without using the CPU.
↕️ Images and videos can be resized instantly to any percentage using hotkeys or to any specific size by clicking on the resolution
💛 Clop can automatically convert less compatible formats like HEIC, tiff, mov etc. to formats understood by most devices.
👨💻 There's also a command-line integration and Shortcuts support for batch optimising, resizing or cropping as many files as you need
🤖 Automation is also there, allowing you to run any Shortcut at the end of the optimisation (maybe you want to upload the optimised file somewhere and copy the link to clipboard)

Who hunted Clop?
Clop was hunted by Alin Panaitiu. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
