Clipset – Modular Video Ad Variations
150 video ad variations from one set of clips. One click.
Clipset is a desktop app for Mac and Windows that turns your hook, body, and CTA clips into every possible video ad variation — automatically. Drop in 10 hooks, 5 bodies, and 3 CTAs, hit Generate, and get all 150 finished ads as separate files. No timelines, no cloud upload, no subscription: everything renders locally, your footage never leaves your machine, and there are no render caps. Built for media buyers, DTC founders, and UGC creators who need to test more creative than they can edit.
Hi Product Hunt. Sergei here, solo dev behind Clipset.
I built this because I was losing weekends to it. I was running YouTube Shorts ads for another app, following the standard playbook: record a bunch of hooks, a few bodies, a few CTAs, test every combination. 10 × 5 × 3 = 150 videos. Simple math, brutal in practice, every one of them meant dragging the same clips into a CapCut timeline in a different order, exporting, renaming. Again and again.
The tools that automate this exist, but they're cloud subscriptions at $79+/month with monthly render caps. As an engineer that bugged me. This is a combinatorics problem. My laptop can do it.
So Clipset does one thing: you drop your finished clips into sections (Hook, Body, CTA, or whatever structure you want), hit Generate, and it renders every combination as a separate file. Plus a CSV of what went into each one, so you can track results.
What makes it different: • Runs 100% locally. Your footage never leaves your machine. • $49 once. No subscription, no render limits. • No AI. It combines the real clips you already recorded. • Mac (Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows (beta).
There's a free trial, so you can throw a real project at it before deciding.
I'd love to hear where it breaks for you, especially from media buyers and UGC creators. What's missing? What would make this fit your workflow? I read everything and ship fast.
