Whenever I tried using Claude or any AI coding assistant to help draft export paperwork or navigate Indian GST export rules, I ran into the same frustrating issue: almost every model defaults strictly to US Customs (CBP) rules, EIN numbers, and 19 CFR regulations.
For exporters and developers shipping from India, the UK, Europe, or the UAE, this creates serious compliance headaches — like missed Rule 96(10) duty-free input restrictions or frozen ICEGATE shipping bill refunds.
I built claude-trade-skills as a free, open-source Claude Code plugin that brings country-accurate trade rules to AI workflows:
• Generates compliant export commercial invoices and packing lists (India IEC/GSTIN, UK/EU EORI/VAT, UAE TRN, and Incoterms 2020 math).
• Handles Indian GST export compliance: LUT (RFD-11), ICEGATE refund error diagnostics (SB001–SB006), and Rule 89(4) ITC calculations.
• Operates under a strict Zero-Assumptions protocol so it never guesses tariff codes or valuation exchange rates.
It’s 100% open-source under the MIT license.
