Hi everyone, There are two of us, and we both smoke cigars. For years we kept notes on paper — what we smoked, what we thought of it, what to buy again. The problem with a notebook becomes obvious once you've filled a couple: you can't search it, it won't sort by strength, it doesn't remind you that you tried this shape last year and weren't convinced, and it's sitting at home the day you're standing in front of a display case. So we built the thing we wanted. First commit was May 2025, shipped this August on iPhone and Android. What it does: you enter what you own — quantity, price, your own photos — and split it across humidors, one per location. Then you log each smoke: rating out of five, tasting note, photo, how long it lasted. The history stays readable, which was really the whole point. There's also an illustrated catalog (shapes, ring gauges, strengths, origins), a wishlist, and stats on how a collection moves over time. Free, with an optional Premium tier. That tier is the entire business model. One thing shaped the whole project and it might interest you more than the app does. We're French. French law bans tobacco advertising broadly enough that our highest court has held that publishing a cigar magazine is itself unlawful advertising. So we built a cigar app in one of the hardest countries in the world to talk about cigars. That shuts down most of the usual playbook: no paid ads, no retail partnerships, no affiliate commissions. We decided to make it a rule instead of complaining about it. Cigarino sells nothing, sends you to no shop, takes no commission, carries no advertising in either tier, and checks age by country. Somewhere else those would read as positioning. For us they're just what the work requires. To be clear about what this is: smoking tobacco is dangerous, and Cigarino is a tool for people who already smoke cigars. It's not an invitation to start. It's a 1.0 and we know where it's thin. Two things we'd really like feedback on: onboarding, which we rewrote more than anything else and still like the least, and whether the tasting log asks for too much or too little.
