What inspired us to build this?
The inspiration came from personal frustration. After spending hours scrolling through social media and calling five different vendors just to find a photographer for an event, I realized how broken the process of hiring local experts really was. We kept hearing the same story from friends and neighbors—it was far too hard to find someone trustworthy, verify their work, and book them securely.
What problem were we trying to solve?
Our goal is to remove the 'guesswork' from hiring. We wanted to build a single, transparent marketplace where you can discover, vet, and book verified professionals—whether it's for home maintenance, creative projects, or event planning—without the stress of unreliable communication or unsafe transactions.
How did our approach/process evolve?
Initially, we thought about just creating a directory, but we quickly learned that trust is the biggest barrier. Our focus shifted from just listing providers to building a platform that prioritizes verified ratings, secure in-app communication, and protected payments. We had to pivot from being 'a place to find people' to 'a place to get the job done with peace of mind.'
