AI Summary Helper
AI summaries you can verify, saved to a private archive
Chrome extension that summarizes pages, PDFs and YouTube with AI and shows the passage behind every answer, so you can check it instead of trusting it. Ghost highlights, papers recognised by DOI, a built-in RSS reader and Instant Read. Bring your own key or a local model; your searchable library stays on your device. Free, open source, 41 languages.
Hi Product Hunt, I'm Phil, the maker of AI Summary Helper.
I launched it here before. Since then I rebuilt a lot of it, so I'm back with what changed.
The idea is simple: a summary is only useful if you can check it. So follow-up answers cite the passage they come from, and research mode recognizes a paper by its DOI and lines up several sources instead of giving you one blended answer.
What's new:
- Research mode (DOI recognition, topic research across sources)
- YouTube videos and PDFs
- Instant Read (it reads the summary to you)
- Ghost highlights on the page
- A mood filter, if you want only the good news
- Split view
It is free and open source. You bring your own API key, or run a local model with Ollama. Your library stays on your device.
I'd love to hear what you'd want next, and which language you'd like polished. I'm here all day.
