We built this after watching friends go through the same kitchen-remodel loop: weeks of saving Pinterest photos, then a contractor looks at the mood board and says "that's a $40k kitchen — yours is smaller and the window is in the wrong place." Every inspiration image was somebody else's room.
The problem was never a lack of ideas. It's that you can't see any of them in *your* kitchen until you've already paid a designer. So we flipped the flow: upload one photo from your phone, and the AI reads your actual cabinet run, windows and footprint, then keeps them anchored while it swaps finishes, colors and style. Ten styles are built in, plus a wishes box for specifics like "sage green cabinets, keep the counters."
Three things we learned along the way:
1. Dated kitchens are the best input — a 90s oak box transforms far more dramatically than a showroom already does.
2. People care as much about single elements (just the island, just the backsplash) as whole-room restyles — focused redesign became half the product.
